I first met Liza while teaching at the Cape Cod Writers’ Conference in August of 2008. I was blown away by the mature voice that comes from her pen. Recently I cut up a bunch of pictures and told the class I wanted them to pick one and write a short piece. Liza picked a picture of hands holding onto cell bars of a prison. In a couple of paragraphs she brought to life a story that moved everyone in class.
